LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held at a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, May 1, 2002, in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Lena Naquin Baker, 97, who died at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at Magnolia Estates Nursing Home in Lafayette.
Monsignor J. Douglas Courville, pastor of St. Jules Catholic Church in Lafayette, will serve as celebrant of the Mass.
Entombment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Mrs. Baker, daughter of the late Arthur Joseph Naquin and the former Elmira Freyou, was a native of Abbeville. She worked as a secretary/assistant for Dr. Burton's Veterinary Clinic in Pineville for 20 years. She was a member of St. Jules Catholic Church Community for 10 years.
Survivors include three sisters, Mary Ruth Hoffpauir, of Lafayette, Wilda Faulk, of Abbeville, and Elmira "Totsy" Stackhouse, of Jennings; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester Lee Baker; four sisters, Gertrude Lee, Roberta Quaidy, Laura Compete and Ella Pesson; and four brothers, Sterling Naquin, Earl Naquin, Arthur J. Naquin and Wayne Naquin.
Visiting hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to service time today. A rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. today at the funeral home. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, is in charge of arrangements. (Lafayette Daily Advertiser, 5/1/02)
