Death
Obituary: Douglas J. Hoffpauir, 79, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007. He died in a Delhi hospital after a brief illness. Douglas was living in Richland Manor Nursing Home in Delhi. He loved telling people that he was known as the "LA Prayer Boy." Douglas loved to visit and tell stories to anyone and everyone he met, as long as they were willing to listen. He dearly loved his wife, Audrey, who preceded him in death in 2001. Those who were blessed to know him would say that however simple his life was, he appreciated it for what it was. Douglas donated his body to LSU Anatomical School. After studies are complete his body will be cremated and buried alongside his wife in Shreveport. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Kenneth Corkran and wife, Karyn, of Sulphur; John "Burr" Corkran and wife, Sharon, of Lake Charles and Don Corkran and wife, Karla, of Kerrville, Texas; and a great-niece, Rita Fontenot and husband, Harris, of Moss Bluff.
