Obituary: Shreveport - Carol Ann Hoffpauir Hall, 82, of Shreveport, Louisiana, departed this life, surrounded by her loving family, on December 29th, 2018 after battling pneumonia. Born in Gulfport, Mississippi, she was raised in the New Orleans area. She met and married Dr. John W. Hall who preceded her in death in 2017. They made their home in Shreveport where they were both founding faculty at Louisiana State University in Shreveport where she was a professor of mathematics and computer science for 30 years. She co-founded and edited I.B. Magazette; one of the first ever digital, interactive magazines on five and a quarter inch floppy disk. She was passionate about education and travel; and, along with her husband, guided several student tours of Europe, Washington D.C., and Alaska. Carol was a loving wife and mother, an excellent cook, and an active member of both the Zonta and PEO organizations. She was an active member of Noel Methodist Church, its Upper Room Class and Chancel Choir. She loved sewing, backyard wildlife, her border collies, classic movies, Agatha Christie novels and movies and Perry Mason. She loved sunflowers and the color red.Carol is survived by her brother John Wade Hoffpauir, her daughters Carla Hall Minor (husband Karl Minor) and Cathryn Hall Angeles (husband Jonathan Angeles), and her granddaughter Hannah Elaine Minor. A memorial service for Carol, and a celebration of the lives of John and Carol Hall will be held 10 AM Saturday January 12 at Noel United Methodist Church, 520 Herndon St, Shreveport, LA 71101.
