Burial
Obituary: Shirley Rae Alexander, age 80, of Stockton, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2007, in Hospice House of Stockton. Born on February 4, 1927, in Fresno, Calif., she graduated from the Fremont High School in 1944 in Oakland, Calif., and attended Lippman Tech Institute in 1944. She was a lab technician at Ft. Mason during World War II and researched penicillin and bacitracin. She was a volunteer counselor for "Rap Room" at Bella Vista High School, a member of Jackson, Calif., United Methodist Church, and United Methodist Women, was a past matron Amador Ch. #66 OES, and was a member of Honor Bethel #292 International Order of Job's Daughters. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Bert F. Alexander. Loving mother of Helen Alexander-Woods of Stockton and Raymond Alexander of Kelseyville, Calif. Grandmother of two and great-grandmother of two. Memorial services were held on Saturday, August 25, in the Jackson UnitedMethodist Church. Private graveside services on Wednesday in the Fair Oaks Cemetery, Fair Oaks, Calif. Memorial contributions to either the Amador Lodge Scholarship Fund or the OES cancer fund are preferred.
