Lawrence E. Hoffpauir Jr., 74, died at 12:57 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2002, in a local hospital. He was a native of Crowley and a longtime resident of Lake Charles. He served in the Marine Corps in World War II. He retired from South Central Bell and was a member of Telephone Pioneers Workers of America. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was an usher. Survivors include his wife, Walterine McCoy Hoffpauir of Lake Charles; one son, Larry Hoffpauir of Lake Charles; one daughter, Donna Hudspeth of Dallas; one brother, Buddy Hoffpauir of Crowley; one sister, Deanna Habetz of Crowley; and five grandchildren. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, in Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Hugh Wallis and Clinton Duke will officiate. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is 3-10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Wednesday. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church building fund, thefamily said. (LCAP 3-19-02)
