ESTHERWOOD - James Melvin Hoffpauir, 63, died Sunday, November 7, 2004 at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 9 at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Methodist Cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley. Hardy Ulmet officiating, for James Melvin Hoffpauir, 63, of Estherwood, who died at 6:08 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, in Crowley's American Legion Hospital. Burial was in the Ebernezer Methodist Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Violia Hoffpauir, Estherwood; one son, David Dale Hoffpauir, French Settlement; three daughters, Melissa Hanks, Duson, Alice Cao, Scott, and Samantha Thai, Lafayette; and 11 grandchildren. Mr. Hoffpauir served in the United States Navy during the Cuban Crisis. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Eunice Primeaux Hoffpauir, and one sister, Dorothy Hoffpauir.
