Death
Obituary: CROWLEY - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 9, 2008, for Dallas Pierre Hoffpauir of Kaplan, 80, who died Sunday, January 6, 2008, at Lafayette General Hospital. Father Gary Schexnayder will be officiating the service. Burial will take place at Abshire cemetery in Rural Kaplan. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services. He is survived by one daughter, Geraldine and husband Dennis West of Kaplan; two sons, Michael and wife Carolyn Hoffpauir and Dwight and wife Lisa Hoffpauir, all of Kaplan; two brothers, Hollen and wife Lois Hoffpauir of Nevada and James Hoffpauir of Crowley; two half-brothers, Elridge Hoffpauir of Crowley and Milton Hoffpauir of Kaplan; one half-sister, Pearl Guidry of Lafayette; eight grandchildren and five great-granddaughters. Mr. Hoffpauir is preceded in death by his wife, Irene Hoffpauir; one son, Steven Hoffpauir; one great-grandson, David Hoffpauir; his parents, Eddie and Elia Credeur Hoffpauir; one brother, Sidney Hoffpauir; and two sisters, Edith Sarver and Lucy Guidry. He served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II while stationed in Germany. Mr. Hoffpauir was a jack-of-all-trades and could do anything. (Crowley Post-Signal)Endnotes
