Crowley -- Funeral services for Joseph N. Laurents, 83, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, in Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Floyd will officiate. Burial will be in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery in Mermentau.
Visitation is from 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m. today, and from 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Mr. Laurents died at 2:27 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 1998, in the Crowley hospital.
He was a charter member of Habibi Temple in Lake Charles, a member of Crowley Rice Drier Coop, Inc. since 1967, and served on the board of directors. He was a member of Masonic Lodge, and
Oddfellow and Rebecca Lodge in Crowley, and a board member of the former Louisiana Irrigation and Mill Co.
Survivors include two daughters, Joann L. LeBlanc of Crowley and Burdell L. Arceneaux of Sulphur; two brothers, Burley C. Laurents of Port Arthur, Texas and Curtis Lee Laurents of Lake Charles; eight
grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
