Death

Obituary: Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude O'Quinn, 85, of Sulphur, will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 2 p.m. in Robison Funeral Home Chapel. Father Jerry Boulanger M.S. will officiate. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery, under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Friday, October 24, 2008 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Scriptural Service at 7 p.m. and continue on Saturday, October 25 from 8 a.m. until time of service. Mrs. O'Quinn passed away on Wednesday, October 22, in Sulphur surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. O'Quinn was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur. She was a graduate of Sulphur High School and was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her first husband John J. Dougherty, and her second husband Ovie O'Quinn; her daughter Jeanne Hughes; grandson Tommy Hughes; parents James and Alouisa Hoffpauir; sister Winnie Van; and two brothers, Gilfred and James Hoffpauir. The family wishes to thank the physicians and staff of Davita Dialysis of Sulphur. Survivors include her three daughters, Theresa Mallet and husband Jack of Carlyss, Mary Vincent and husband Glen of Hackberry, Trudy Durkes and husband Herbert of Carlyss; her daughter of the heart Beth Istre of Vinton; three sons, Tim Dougherty and wife Lydia of Carlyss, John Dougherty of Sulphur, and Brian Dougherty and wife Allison of Sulphur; two stepsons, Gordon O'Quinn and wife Barbara of Missouri, and David O'Quinn of Texas; son-in-law Robert Hughes of LaCamp; 21 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
