Thomas S. Crabb and his brother John W. Crabb born 3 May 1776 Berkeley County, Virginia, were orphans and were adopted by their relatives Edward Ralph Crabb and Rachel Ball. Edward Ralph Crabb and Rachel Ball purchased land in Sleepy Creek, Berkeley, Virginia, now Morgan County, West Virginia and sold the land when they went to Ohio.
