Rebecca BRAY
(20 Dec 1806 - 22 May 1884)
According to Gearleen Bray Hagstedt and her husband, George , there was a Rebecca Bray (b.12/20/1802 in TN, d.5/22/1894 in Claiborne County TN). She was never married. She lived on the old bray homestead along the Powell River just east of the old community of Hopewell. She was a quiet person and never discussed who the father of her son Franklin was. Family members believe that his name was Parks, but no one knows for sure. She is buried on the old family homestead with a small grave stone. Currently the Bill Brooks farm. They believe that Rebecca's father was Patrick Bray and her mother was Mary Stocks (Stokes?). They said her son Franklin is buried at the Bray cemetery in Hercules, Taney County, MO.
