Individual Details

Franklin William BRAY

(16 Jul 1838 - 16 Aug 1914)

It is interesting that on the 1860 census, Franklin, his mother Rebecca, and wife Elizabeth, were in Lee County, Virginia. They apparently stayed in Virginia through the births of sons John Patrick, Andrew Johnson, and Steven S. Bray, before returning to Claiborne County, TN, where they are found in the 1880 census. I have not found them in 1870, but the 1880 census says that their next six children, Hugh, Mary Jane, George Washington, Nancy Elizabeth, Rhoda, and Cornelia were all born in Tennessee.
