Joshua SIMPSON

It is family lore that "Joshua" was Scottish and one day was helping an uncle load a ship bound for America and the uncle basically shanghaied him and sold him as an indentured servant to a family in Kentucky around 1800.There, he married and started a family, having Owen and possibly other kids. The 1870 census does say his father is born outside the US.
