!BIRP-MARRIED-FATHER-CHILDREN:Manakin Huguenot Society; 284.5; H874m; Publication #7; pp. 252,253 !NOTE: John (Jean in French) was the son of Jean LeVillian born probably in Jessey in Lovern, Normandy, France (this is where his father was a native of and his father was listed with one wife, 2 garcons and 2 filles on the ship "Peter and Anthony" which sailed from London). He married Phillippa (e) DuPuy, daughter of Bartholomew Dupuy and Susanna Le(a)Villian. John and Phillippa had four children: Marye, Susan, Jean and Elizabeth who married Matthew Woodson. John's Will: Jean, Jr., of King William Parish, Cumberland County, Wills to wife, Phillippe Le Villian, during life, free use and occupation of land (whereon I now live), in the Manakin Town, and of 120 acres in Chesterfield County that I purchased of Nath. Finch, and after her death said two tracts of land to my daughter Elizabeth Woodson. To wife all slaves, stock and all other moveables; said wife may give or sell any such part of my moveable estate as she may think proper without any kind of hindrance or interruption of any person whatsoever. In the name of God Amen. I, John Levillain of King William Parish in he county of cumberland, being in prfect health and of sound mind and memory thanks be to God and _____ _____ the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time and _______ personal disputes which might arise after my death I do make this my last will and testament in the following manner. ________ I do most humbly offer my soul unto almight God (who first gave it) hope _____ through the mediation f my blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to obtain pardon for all mine offences whatsoever. And as to my body my desire is that I may be buried in a decent manner at the descretion of my executrix and executor hereafter named. And after my just debts and my funeral charges are paid then the remainder of my estate I give as followeth. Item. I give unto my dearly beloved wife Phillipe LeVillain the free use or occupation of all the land (whereon I now live) in the Mannakin Town also the free use of one hundred and twenty acres of land in Chesterfield county that I purchased of Nathan'el Finch during her natural life. And after her decease I do give and bequeath the said two tracts of land unto my beloved daughter Elizabeth Woodson and her heirs forever. Item. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Phillipe LeVillain all the slaves _____ and all other moveables whatsoever that belongeth unto me at the time of my death and it is my will and desire that my said wife Phillipe may give or sell any such part of my moveable estate as she may think proper without any _____ of _____tion of any person whatsoever. And lastly I do constitute and appoint my loving wife Phillipe LaVillain, John James DuPuy and my son in law Matthew Woodson to be the executors of this my last will and testament revoking all former wills by me ___________ and seal this twenty-sixth day of January in the year of our Lor d one thousand seven hudnred and sixty-five.
