Subj: Re: Scott Family Date: 00-04-22 01:06:29 EDT From: kandiandi@mindspring.com (L. Anderson McLaney) To: WLSRowe@aol.com I'm going thru your tree and comparing it to mine so as I go thru, I can note any differentnces. Anything I have, I did not personally research,so keep that in mind. -I have Thomas Wheeler's mother as being named Elizabeth Clements, not Greene...widow? Notes on Thomas Wheeler: Thomas owned several important tracts of land. In September 1741, he inherited from his father "Thomas Begingin" and 30 acres of Green Spring. He purchased "Rose's Gree"n" in September 1743 and later "Little Marsh Branch". On July 31, 1746 he exchanged 100 acres of "Wheelers Union" with Robert Clark for 100 acres of "Clark's Park". By 1750, Thomas owned 155 acres called "Wheeler's Enlargement"; 150 acres called "Roughborough"; 370 acres called "The Beginning" and 50 acres called "Wheeler's Search" - presumeably all in Baltimore Co., MD. upon his death, his estate was appraised at 935 pounds, 18 schilling, 9 pence (Sep 18, 1770), a considerable sum since an average farmer or worker made about 50 poundsper year in the 1770's.
