Birth
Her parents were Johannes (a laborer, age 53 in 1880 US Census for IL, born in Swed) and Charlotte Larson (age 52 in 1880 US Census for IL, born in Swed). They also had a daughter Marie (or Mary) who was 20 in 1880, and a couple of other children but there was a "Marie Larsen" who lived with Alma and her husband Franz Adolf in 1910 and 1920 US Censuses who was single and listed as a sister-in-law and a sister. Further more, I wonder if this older sister Marie was the birth mother of Alma and Franz's adopted daughter Lenore, whose surname on the 1910 US Census was, curiously, listed as "Larsen" rather than Alford--which matches Marie's surname and not Lenore's parents's surname. Rather doubtful, since Marie/Mary would have been quite old (in her late forties) for an illegitimate daughter.Census
