"It is really the name “Benjamin”, which is not frequent, and consequently are sons and daughters of a father named “Benjamin” fairly rare. In my database about people born 1720-1900 in the three nearby counties, I have noted the following:
· 213,853 were born in total.
· 5011 were named Lars.
· 101 were named Benjamin. One of them was born in the parish of Lä nghem, however with a father named Johannes and in the year of 1825.
· 13,021 children had a father named Lars.
· 195 children had a father named Lars
· 7 children named Benjamin had a father named Lars, i e Lars Benjaminsson. Of those 7 children, five were born in 1749, 1778, 1811, 1856 and 1871. The remaining two were born in 1793-06-03 [one day off from the purported birthdate of Lars Benjamin) in the parish of Timmele and in 1793-10-17 in the parish of Hö ssna. [While both Timmelle and Hö ssna are close to Ulricehamn, the child born in Timmelle has the birth date that is only off by one day so that makes it highly probable that this Lars, son of Benjamin, is my ancestor.--cmh]
There are occasional mistakes in the church records, but supposing that your Lars Benjaminsson was born in Timmele implicates fewer mistakes than the alternatives."

It's not been proven 100% that Benjamin Arfvidsson is the father of Lars Benjaminsson but it is highly probable.
