Death
THOMASVILLE | Paul Medlin Sr., 79, of Ben Lee Road, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. David White and assisted by Mr. Dwight Riggs. Burial with military honors provided by Randolph County Honor Guard will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Medlin was born in Guilford County on Feb. 3, 1925, to Archie Lee “Buck” and Mattie Myers Medlin. He had made this area his home his entire life. He owned various furniture manufacturing and sales companies and he was a member of Fairgrove United Methodist Church. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the Thomasville Senior Citizens Club. His first wife, the former Arlene Martin, preceded him in death on Nov. 9, 1983. On Oct. 12, 1984, he married the former Anita Cross Wicker of Sanford, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are his three daughters, Saundra Riggs and her husband, Mike, of Lexington, Frances Mullins and her husband, Kevin of Thomasville, and Rebecca Medlin and her husband, Sonny, of Sanford; two sons, Paul “Dickie” Medlin Jr. and Mark Randall Martin, both of Thomasville; five grandchildren, Derek Medlin and his wife, Teresa, Dwight Riggs and his wife, Kristen, Tosha Briles and her husband, Trent, and Jason Riggs and his wife, Alice, and Cori Johnson; and six great-grandchildren, Zachary Flowe, Cameron Jewel Briles, Michael Briles, Jason Riggs, Harrison Riggs and Mason Riggs.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home and other times at the home of a son, 414 W. Holly Hill Road.
