Norval Morris Harper

Norval M. Harper, 89, of Bloomington passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at the Bloomington Hospital. He was born on August 1, 1915 in Greene County the son of Noah and Marguerite (Ault) Harper. He was a retired parts manager for Ralph Rogers and Co. and also worked at Crane during World War II.
Norval was a man dedicated to his wife and family, a long-time member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and the Solsberry Masonic Lodge. He also enjoyed camping and bowling in his younger years.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn and Clyde Strunk of Taswell, Kathy and Dallas Thompson and Linda and Junior Tatlock, all of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Steve (Heidi) Strunk, Barry (Vicki) Strunk, Jeffrey Thompson, Mark Thompson and Lori (Brad) Schulz; three step-grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, four step-great grandchildren, four great, great grandchildren and four step-great, great grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Louella (Briles) Harper in 2000; three sisters, Icie Todd, May Gardner and Ada Harper; and five brothers, Elmer Harper, Randolph Harper, Clell Harper, Charlie Harper and Lowell Harper.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church will Rev. Frank Van Allen officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may call today at Allen Funeral Home from 2- 8 p.m. and at the church one hour preceding the services on Saturday.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church or the charity of one's choice in care of Allen Funeral Home.
