Valentine Crotts

(13 Aug 1814 - )

From "The Crotts Trail" by Henry L Crotts:
After his third marriage to KathieGrubb of Caldwell County NC, Valentine
left his son Franklin to live with hisoldest son Jacob. He Took his
other young sons Henderson, Allison and Robertto live with he and Kathie
in Caldwell County. He lived the balance of his life there. He is known
to have owned several hundred acres of land at his original home in
Davidson County which he left in charge of his caretaker. His estate was
never settled and his children received nothing. Reputedly his lands were
appropriated and occupied by others. No attempt was made by his children
to recover them. Many years later two attempts made by his grandchildren
were unsuccessful.
Copy of information that I have from the family Bible ofJacob Crotts
lists his name as Walindine and birth as 15 August 1818. I do not know
if the date is wrong in the Bible or typed wrong on the copy.
