Death

Mrs. Ruby Welborn Carroll, 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Rich Fork Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Carroll will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will be at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00-8:00 PM and at other times at the home. Born on August 19, 1942 in Davidson County, NC to Carl Odell Welborn and Pearlie Mae Copple Welborn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond "Ray" Elsworth Carroll on September 17, 1998, whom she married on July 17, 1966; her brothers, Luther Welborn and Carl Welborn, Jr.; and her sisters, Edna Baugh, Lorene Hayes, Ruth Underwood, Martha Craven, and Brenda Gallimore. Surviving are her sons, William (Bill) Carroll and Glenn Carroll and wife Mary, all of Thomasville; granddaughter, Breanna Carroll; grandson, Aaron Carroll and wife Cailyn; great-granddaughter, Emma Carroll, sister-in-law, Juanita Welborn; brother-in-law, Talton Gallimore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
