THOMASVILLE -- Edna Leona Welborn Baugh, 88, died Monday, June 20, 2016, at her home.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Greenwood Baptist Church by Pastor Michael Ferguson. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Baugh will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
She was born Dec. 7, 1927, in Davidson County to Carl Welborn and Pearlie Copple Welborn. She was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church, the Ladies Sunday School Class, the Young at Heart Senior’s Group and the WMU, and she was a former Sunday school teacher. She loved the outdoors, craftwork, quilting, sewing, puzzles and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry "Bill" Baugh Jr. on Aug. 7, 2002, whom she married Feb. 28, 1948; granddaughter Wendy Myers; brothers Luther and Odell Welborn; and sisters Martha Craven, Lorene Hayes and Ruth Underwood.
Surviving are her two daughters, Donna Shaw and husband Dennis of Denton and Jeanette Bame and husband Charlie of Thomasville; grandchildren Chris Bame and wife Meredith and Scott Bame; great-grandchildren Addison Bame and Austin Bame; brother John Welborn of Randleman; and sisters Brenda Gallimore of Trinity, Ruby Carroll of Thomasville, Helen Byrd and Betty Elkins, both of Archdale, and Ida Rea Hughes of Denton.
