Death

TRINITY- Donald “Don” Hunt, 81, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.
He was born on August 13,1937 in Randolph County, to the late Charles and Alice Davis Hunt. A resident of this area all his life, he was retired from the City of High Point, after 39 plus years of service, and he was a member of Bales Wesleyan Church. Don enjoyed camping, going to the mountains, and the beach. He also enjoyed fishing; especially at the Outer Banks. He was married to the former Elizabeth “Lib” Auman in 1981, she preceded him in death in 2018. In addition to his wife and parents, preceding him in death was a brother, David Hunt.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Hunt; his step son, Randy Chappel and wife, Judy; his stepdaughter Cathy Haynes and husband, Tony; his sisters, Jean Usher and Carol Lawrence; 3 grandchildren, Shannon Haynes Calderon, Sandy Scarboro, and Tammy Walker; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Don’s life will be held on Friday morning, January 18, at 11 o’clock, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Pastor Carl Pulliam officiating. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Memorial Association Chapel Cemetery. His family will receive friends on Thursday evening, January 17, from 6 until 8 o’clock, at the funeral home.
