Anne Hunt Hartzog of Winston-Salem, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011 at her residence. She was born March 24, 1929 in Thomasville, NC to Robert Glenn Hunt and Beulah Alford Hunt. She worked as a registered nurse until she became a mother and homemaker. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking recipes from her beloved Centenary Cookbook, knitting, and sewing. She especially loved gazing at the night sky. Mrs. Hartzog was an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Hunt, and a sister, Eva Powell. She is survived by three daughters, Chris Hartzog Evans and husband Steve, of Fuquay-Varina; Melissa Hartzog Frazier and husband Mark, of Winston-Salem; and Jennifer Hartzog Jolley and husband Frank, of Rocky Mount. Also surviving are brothers, Donald Hunt, James Hunt and Robin Hunt; sisters, Jean Warner, Margaret Hunt, and Dianne Smoot; and six grandchildren, Zach Evans and wife Mary Beth; Grayson Evans, Frank Jolley, Jr., Ford Jolley; Meredith Britt and husband Andrew, and Ellen Frazier. She is affectionately known to her grandchildren as "Mimi". There will be a Funeral Service held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Tuesday, Oct.11, 2011, 3 p.m. with a reception immediately following the service in the Colhoun Room. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Samaritan Ministries, 1243 Patterson Ave., Winston-Salem, 27101.
