Death
Harvey B. Hoover, 78, went to be with his Lord Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the Hinkle Hospice Home. Harvey was born in Randolph County, January 24, 1940, a son of the late John David Hoover and Sally Younts Hoover. He retired from Thomasville Furniture after 34 years of service. Harvey was preceded in death by a son, Timothy “Timmy” Hoover, step-mother; Mildred Hoover; sister, Shirley Hunt and two brothers, John David Hoover, Jr. and Bobby Hoover. Harvey was a member of Faith Alliance Church and enjoyed gardening and sports. Surviving are his wife, Gail Sumner Hoover; two step-sons, Jimmy Ray and fiancé Michelle Gammons and Kevin Ray and wife Melissa; two sisters, Patsy Childers and husband Mickey and Peggy Kindley; three brothers, Gene Hoover, Tommy Hoover and wife Lois and Johnny Hoover and wife Rebecca, and five grandchildren. A Celebration of Harvey’s life will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church by Dr. Keith Carroll, Rev. Frankie Hall and Rev. Jonathan Collins. Burial will follow in Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Mt. Zion Sunday from 1 until 2 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County or Faith Alliance Church, 2437 Old Farmer Rd., Asheboro, NC 27205.
