Death
Mr. Charlie Wade Summey, 82 a resident of Old NC Hwy 109 passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at High Point Regional Hospital. He was born to the late Lonnie Elwood Summey and Mary Elizabeth Walker Summey on November 26, 1936 in Randolph County. Mr. Summey retired from Carolina Business Furniture. He was married December 7, 1957 to his loving wife, Myrtle Kindley Summey. Mr. Summey loved to go fishing and the weeks he spent at the beach. He was also a member of Community Baptist Church. He loved birds and was a breeder of several breeds of birds. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Hancock and Ruby Kindley and three brothers, Austin Summey, Roby Summey, and Russell Summey. Mr. Summey is survived by his wife of 61 years, Myrtle Kindley Summey of the home; two daughters, Debbie Barnes of Thomasville, and Cathy Frisbee and husband David of Thomasville; one son, Mark Summey and wife Valerie of Lexington; two sisters, Bessie Mae Lambeth of Thomasville, and Frances Hughes and husband Buck of Thomasville; one brother, John Ross “J.R.” Summey and wife Frances of Thomasville; four grandchildren, Alicia Frisbee, Chloe Summey, Celita Summey, and Enzo Summey; and great-grandson Levi Crowell. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Community Baptist Church at 2:00PM with Rev. Brian Workman officiating. The family will greet friends Friday night from 6:00-8:00PM at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. The interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
