TRINITY-Mary E. Royals “Nanny "Libby” Kennedy, 81, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 12, 2018.
She was born on August 24, 1936 in Randolph County, to the late Royce and Ruth Floyd Royals. A resident of this area all of her life, she worked for Amos Hoisery Mill and retired after 35 years of service. After retirement, she worked for Winn Dixie, GrayBrier and McDonalds. Nanny Libby enjoyed working in her flowers, riding on the four wheeler with her grandson, Chris, and going to his clogging competitions. She loved her pets; especially her dog, Angel. Her true love and passion was spending time with her family. She was a long time member of Hopewell United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and will be dearly missed. On May 23, 1952, she was married to E. Lenton “Pete” Kennedy; he preceded her in death on February 10, 1995.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Kennedy; her brother, Bobby Royals; her grandson, Chris Kennedy; her nieces, Taylor Wedge and her husband, Eric, and Lindsay Royals; her great niece, Royce Lea Wedge and her great nephew, Easton Wedge.
A service to celebrate Nanny Libby’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 16th, at 10:00 am, from the graveside in Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Reverend Amy Coles officiating. Her family will see friends at the residence.
