Lois Jean Phillips of Wellington, Kansas, died Friday, September 14, 2012 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington, Kansas at the age of 79. Lois was born the daughter of Milo Floyd Briles and Etta Elizabeth (Angle) Briles and on Thursday, December 29, 1932 in Anthony, Kansas. On December 23, 1962, Lois and Billie Lee Phillips were united in marriage in Ottawa County, Oklahoma. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage. Lois sold Avon for many years and was very lucky at bingo; she was a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include sons, Edward Murray and his wife Vicki of Kansas City, Missouri, Kelly Phillips of Jacksonville, Florida, Kevin Phillips and his companion Melody of Wellington, Kansas, daughter, Bobbi Stewart and her husband Leon of Wellington, Kansas, sister, Golda Jenkins of Wellington, Kansas, 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Billie Lee Phillips, her parents and brothers and sister. Funeral services for Lois will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the Day Funeral Home, 1030 Mission Road, Wellington, Kansas 67152. A private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials have been established in her loving memory with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Rivercross Hospice. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
