Dr. Bangs book on P.F. Bresee, states on page 37 that Polly Olmstead came from the family that produced Frederick Law Olmsted, the designer of Central Park, New York City.

Per the "Tracy Genealogy" by Mattie Liston-Griswold dated 1900 from Heritage Quest: Samuel Hammond Grant married second, Elizabeth Turner (born July 26, 1830, at Davenport, NY, daughter of John and Polly Olmstead Bresee). See the John C. Bresee file.

1887 See letter dated 23 July 1990 in Karen McIntyre file: "Polly Olmsted's obituary mentions her husband's, John Bresee, parents being John C. & Elizabeth (Rathburn) Bresee".

1850 Per e-mail dated 19 Jan 00 from Pat Gilbert: 1850 census for Otsego Co. shows John 55 (born 1795), Polly 50 (born 1800), and Roger 17 (born 1833).
