Notes
Andreas was held as a possible loyalist in a prison in Springfield, MA. His brothers Johannes and Nicholas were held also. There were a lot of tension over what was happening on Mount Washington, Massachusetts and these three men were considerably angry with both the New York and Massachusetts Bay Colony governors for not being more interested in their plight. Other names from Mount Washington that appear on the list (just to name a few) are Cole, Conklin, Decker (Deeker), Hallenbeck, Kool, Lasher, Pulver, Van Alen, and Vosburgh.
At New England Ancestory.org under "Abstracts of Wills, Administrations and Guardianships in NY State, 1787-1835" shows the will of Andress H. Bressee dated 19 June 1819 which lists his wife, Cattereen, brothers Nicholas dec, Frances Cornelis, Christopher dec and John.
E-mail Jan 9, 2000 from Karen Miller: will of Andris H. Bresee names his brothers which establish this family.

In the Donald Goodman file is a study showing a Andries H. Bresee, born 1737, son of Andries, born abt 1683, and Engeltje Claeuw. This is incorrect in that Andries H. is the grandchild of Andries who was born abt 1683 and Engeltfe Claeuw.
