Samuel Buswell

Samuel Buswell was the son of Elizabeth and Isaac Buswell, Sr. He was baptized on 17 Aug. 1628 at Husbands's Parish, Leicester Co., England. He is listed in Salisbury records as being born in 1628. He arrived in MA with Isaac, Sr. and Margaret Buswell in 1638. Samuel married Sarah Keyes, daughter of Robert and Sarah Keyes of Watertown, MA. She was born 26 Mar 1633 in Watertown and died sometime after 1704. After their marriage, Samuel and Sarah settled in Salisbury, MA where they lived until 1662 and possibly as late as 1669. Samuel is listed as living in Boxford, MA in 1670. In March 1671, Samuel, whose last name had been changed to Boswell, had laid out 53 acres of land in Rowley, MA bounded on the north by the Merrimack River and at the river it was 24 1/2 poles wide. He and his wife were members of the Church of Rowley and appear in records there. He lived in Andover, MA in 1696 and then they moved to Bradford where they remained. Samuel and Sarah Keyes had nine children: Isaac III, John, Samuel, William, Robert, James, Sarah, Joseph and May. Samuel died 7 July 1704 in Bradford. His wife survived him, but her date of death is not known. His will was proved 27 July 1704 and mentions his wife and the names of his brother-in-law, Solomon Keyes and John Boynton, as overseers of his will.
