"Ancestor John Eaton and his wife Anne ? settled at Salisbury, Mass, prior to the winter of 1639" found in "Eaton Genealogies" by Charles N. Sinnett dated 1927, found at Heritage Quest Online. She was his first wife who died in 1660 at Haverhill. His second wife was Phoebe Dow married in 1661.

The following is from "Eaton Genealogies" by Charles N. Sinnett dated 1927, pages 1d-3d found at Heritage Quest Online: "Ancestor John Eaton and his wife Anne ? settled at Salisbury, MA prior to the winter of 1639. In that year his name first appears on the Proprietor's Book. There were several grants of real estate made by the "Freeman of Salisbury Unto John Eaton" from 1640 to 1646. One of these is thus described, "Containoning per estimation six acres, lying Upon Ye Great Neck." where it is supposed that he lived. This Homestead has never passed out of the Eaton Family, and is now known as Brookside Farm.""The Family of John Eaton of Haverhill" by W. H. Eaton, Genealogist, in the Sixth Annual Reunion of the Eaton Family Assoc. on 19 Aug. 1890 in Boston, found at Heritage Quest Online, page "o"16, est. marriage year of 1617 based on the birth of their first child.
