1870 census for Davenport, NY shows him age 50 (born 1820) living with his brother Horace and Samantha. He is a retired merchant. The farm was on the north side of the Charlotte River, opposite Davenport Center about a half mile away and like many Catskills people, they took in summer boarders from the eastern seaboard cities per Dr. Bangs book page 39.Census (family)
