Was a soldier in the Revolutionary war, having enlisted "in the company to go on an expedition now on foot to the State of Rhode Island" per "A Memorial of the town of Hampstead, NH Vol #2" pages 358-359 compiled by Harriette E. Noyes copy righted 1903 at the FHC and Google. All of the children are from this source. Reumen Harriman and wife, Mehitabel Putnam removed to Hampstead soon after their marriage, to the farm purchased by his grandfather, Nathaniel Harriman (? his grandfather was Matthew Harriman). On that farm in a burial lot at the southerly corner, walled around, containing fifteen or twenty rods, Reumen, wife Mehitabel and their colored servant, Philo, are buried .

1749 the town of Hampstead, NH, was formed from parts of Haverhill and Timberlane.

Soon after the marriage they moved to a farm in Hampstead purchased by his grandfather, Nathaniel Harriman. All of the children are from this source.
