Per "History of the town of Stratford NH 1773-1925" by Jeannette R. Thompson, page 420: per the book "Shakerism Exposed" by Mrs Mary (Marshall) Dyer printed 1847 in Concord, states that John's father, Benjamin Marshall, settled in Essex, MA, had four children: John, Edmund, Benjamin and Ezekiel.
