Peter HELMAN

(Abt 1788 - )

Peter and Barbara Helman's sons, Michael and Peter Helman, each petitioned the Court in Franklin County, Pennsylvania in 1842 to receive the $40 legacy plus interest due them from their grandfather, John Heffner. According to John Heffner's will, his daughter Barbara, who was married to Peter Helman, was to receive the interest on $400 after her husband's death with the principal going to her heirs after her death. She died before her husband since her husband Peter appears without her in the 1850 census in Cambria County, Pennsylvania. Since she was to receive $400, this would indicate she and Peter Helman had ten children but only two petitioned the Court to receive the money due them. She died sometime prior to 1842 since her heirs were not to receive the money until after her death.
