Individual Details

Frederick HELMAN

(Bet Est 1789 and 1792 - Bet 12 Jun 1865 and 15 Sep 1865)

His will names his wife Eve and his three daughters: Lanah, Polly, and Sally by name but does not name all his heirs. Samuel Ross and Henry Moyer who are living on his land are to give his wife 1/3 of the grain they raise during her natural life and after his wife's death, his property is to go to his heirs. It is believed that Frederick Helman had a daughter Elizabeth married to Samuel Ross. The death certificate for Samuel and Elizabeth Ross' son, Samuel C. Ross, gives his mother's maiden name as Betsy Helman. Samuel and Elizabeth Ross were living near Frederick Helman in the 1860 census. Frederick Helman's daughter Catharine was probably married to Henry Moyer since Henry and Catharine Moyer were also living near Frederick Helman in the 1860 census. Leana and Catharine are living at home in the 1850 census. Samuel and Elizabeth Ross are married and living in the same township as Frederick in the 1850 census.
