Amos Miles SCHAFFNER

(Sep 1835 - 2 Apr 1899)

Christian Shoffner listed a male under 5 years of age in his household in the 1840 census. The only Shoffner/Schaffners in the Armstrong/Clarion/Jefferson County area were descendants of Henry Shoffner. None of the other sons of Henry Shoffner had a son named Amos. Amos was living the the Redbank Township area where Christian and his two daughters were living. Amos and his wife are buried in Paradise Cemetery where Christian's two daughters and their spouses are buried. Amos and his sister Abby Ann both married children of Joseph Ferringer. All the evidence indicates he was a son of Christian Shoffner.
