Individual Details
Daniel MCCOY
(Abt 1820 - 22 Aug 1894)
There is a deposition in Daniel McCoy's Civil War pension file from James McCreay regarding him receiving a pension. He states in his deposition that "this man is a cousin of mine." James McCreay did not think it was fair that Daniel McCoy received a pension since he only served a short time during the Civil War before being discharged.
James McCreay was a son of Mary McCreay, a daughter of the Revolutionary War patriot, Daniel McCoy. Daniel McCoy who received the Civil War pension and James McCreay were first cousins. This deposition helps to prove that Mary McCoy and John McCoy (the father of Daniel McCoy who received the Civil War pension) were siblings.
