Conflict: Williams, John Adams Cummins: Prince of Entertainers, p 154 lists parents as Kamehameha I and Kina'u, but Hawaiian Chiefs Biographical Abstract states she is granddaughter of Kamehameha I.

LIFE
A. She was a tabu chiefess (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 208).
B. She was one of the mates of Kamehameha II first, and then with Keliiahonui (Hawaiian Chiefs Biographical Abstract). She was left without a mate to care for her following the death of Liholiho (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 346). She first paired with Kealiiahonui, eldest son of Kaumualii, and then joined with Haalelea. She had no children with either mate (Pratt, Keoua: Father of Kings, p 40; McKinzie, vol 1 p 51).
C. In 1823 she was living near Kona, where she hosted the preaching of Christianity to the villagers (Ellis, A Narrative Tour of Hawaii, p 105).
D. She adopted Liliuokalani's sister Anna Kaiulani (Liliuokalani, Hawaii's Story by Hawaii's Queen, p 401).
E. She was appointed governor of Kauai in 1842 (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 397).
F. She was 46 years old when she passed (Hawaiian Chiefs Biographical Abstract).
