Conflict: He Buka no kaoihana Kula Davida Malo ke Kahukula, G-22, p 14 and Na Kuahau Kolakou mau inoa, G-14, p 12 swaps child Loe's generation to Kamaluohua's parents.
Conflict: He was in "the seventh in descent from Paumakua" (Kalakaua, The Legends and Myths of Hawaii, p 177). But Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 1 p 193 shows 14 generations.
LIFE
A. Birthdate middle of the thirteenth century (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 81).
B. Ruler of western Maui, defeated by Kalaunuiohua from Hawaii (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 67-68).
C. Approximately 1260 A.D. and contemporary with Huapouleilei of Oahu, Kahokuohua of Molokai, and Kukona of Kauai (Kalakaua, The Legends and Myths of Hawaii, p 177).
D. Fragment: Contemporary with chief Wakalana on the windward side of Maui, whose mate was Neleike and son Alo-o-ia (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 81). Legend has it that Neleike was a sister of the captain (Kaluiki) of a foreign (possibly Japanese) ship that wrecked on the cliffs; Wakalana rescued 5 persons from the ship (Kalakaua, The Legends and Myths of Hawaii, p 183-184).
