Fragment: "She was probably of Kauai birth, and one legend calls her Naekapulani-a-Makalii, indicating that Makalii was her father; and other legends speak of Makalii as a chief of Waimea, Kauai" (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 93).
