A. Chief on Oahu (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 31); Lived early to mid eleventh century (vol 2 p 47). Lived approximately 1040 A.D. (Kalakaua, The Legends and Myths of Hawaii, p 118).
B. Contemporaries: Fornander claimed that "it becomes an undoubted historical fact that Maweke and Paumakua were contemporaries" (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 1 p 198).
C. Fragment: Huapouleilei, or Huaipouleilei and Huakapouleilei (Malo, Hawaiian Antiquities, p 253). "the eighth in line from Maweke, was the alii-nui of Oahu, his possessions embracing the districts of Ewa, Waianae and Waialua, while the Koolau and Kona divisions were ruled, respectively, by Moku-a-Loe and Kahuoi" (Kalakaua, The Legends and Myths of Hawaii, p 177).
