LIFE
A. Kaahumanu placed Kauikeaouli, at the age of 9, together with Timothy Halilio under the training of Rev. Hiram Bingham (Ahlo et al, Kamehameha's Children Today, p 56).
B. He was "the friend, secretary, and ambassador of the king" (Bingham, A Residence of Twenty-one Years in the Sandwich Islands, p xv).
