Kii

(Abt 387 - )

LINEAGE
Conflict: Parentage differs between Ulu and Nana-ulu genealogy traditions; from Ki'i to Wakea the line diverges. To follow the timeline of Cole and Jensen, Israel in the Pacific, who compared the Hawaiian with Maori genealogies, we use as they did the Ulu tradition backwards from Kamehameha to Ki'i and then the Nana-ulu tradition from Ki'i to Wakea.
For example, in Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii. p. 447 and Helekunihi Genealogy, Hms G54, p 8, the 4 generations between Manaku down to Kii are in different order: Manaku-Kahiko-Luukahakona-Luanuu-Kii.
Kamakau, Tales and Traditions of the People of Old, p. 135;
Buke ku Auhau Hawaii, G-8, p. 3;
He Kuauhau Alii o Hawaii Nei. G-9;
Na Kuahau Kolakou mau inoa, G-14, p 2;
Genealogy, Volume I. G-44, p 3;
He Buke Mookuauhau Alii, Hms G13, p 36;
Harriett Napela Parker Genealogy Book, Hms G25, p 27;
McKinzie, Hawaiian Genealogies, vol 2 p 6;
Peleioholani, Genealogy of the Robinson Family and Ancient Legends and Chants of Hawaii, p 19;
Hawaiian History, The Hawaiian Spectator II, p 212
are as Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, but skips the generation of Lukahakona.
