Conflict: Ka Nupepa Kuokoa, 23 December 1865, Ka Hoomana Kahiko skips 9 generations listing parents as Luanuu and Kapokuleiula.
LIFE

B. Born in Ulehawa or Kaolae, on the south side of Waianae, Oahu (Kamakau, Tales and Traditions of the People of Old, p 135).
C. He went to Kahiki after the birth of his children on Oahu (Kamakau, Tales and Traditions of the People of Old, p 136).
D. "Maui, son of Kalana, was one of the ancient chiefs of Maui who made roads twenty centuries ago. The roads in his day were straight and the people were accustomed to running along straight roads" (Kamakau, Ruling Chiefs of Hawaii, p 429).
E. The legends of Maui is attached to this man, of whom is said to have gone to the sun, and had dragged with a hook these islands, etc (Hawaiian History, The Hawaiian Spectator II, p 218).
