Conflict: Kapawa vs Heleipawa
Some researchers consider Kapawa and Heleipawa to be the same person. "It seems probable, as implied by Fornander, loc. cit. Vol II, p. 21, that Hele-i-pawa and Ka-pawa were the same person .... Granting these emendations, the problem of reconciling the tangled skein of Hawaiian genealogies is made a little easier" (Malo, Hawaiian Antiquities, p 8). Fornander explains that some genealogies have expunged Kapawa's name from the succession (vol 2 p 20-22).
Conflict: Helekunihi Genealogy, Hms G54, p 9 and He Buke Mookuauhau Alii, HMS G13, p 37 list parents as Kapawa and Kekuhiokalani (aka Kekukulupiokalani in HMS G13).
