A. He was "probably born somewhere between the years 1390 and 1400 (Kalakaua, The Legends and Myths of Hawaii, p 209).
B. At the time he was a young man, Kauholanui-mahu was king of Hawaii (Kalakaua, The Legends and Myths of Hawaii, p 213).
C. From his exploits on the other islands, he found "Laiea-a-Ewa, sister of the wife of Kalona, and he returned to Maui." She was his only mate (Kalakaua, The Legends and Myths of Hawaii, p 225.
