LIFE
A. Conflict: Hawaii State Archives, Genealogy Book G-44, p. 31 identifies as male.
Fornander refers to Elepuukahonua as a son and refers to his pedigree "descends to the time of Haka, a noted Ewa chief who ... was the last Oahu sovereign of the Kumuhonua branch" (Fornander, An Account of the Polynesian Race, vol 2 p 49). However, Fornander does not give a genealogy. A genealogy is given with that pedigree in another source that identifies Olepuukahonua as female (McKinzie, Hawaiian Genealogies, vol 2 p 23).
B. Na Kuahau Kolakou mau inoa, G-14, p 14 uses the name
Olepuukahonua , implying that Olepuukahonua and Elepuukahonua may be the same person. Genealogy of the Chiefs, Hms G46, p 37 uses the name Olepuikahonua with the descendency, but lists parents as Kepoo and Kaneikuikahonua
