Glen M. Johnson, 83, of Hendricks, MN passes away on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at Sioux Valley hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 24, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Hendricks, MN with Rev. Duane Baun officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Burial was in the Hendricks City Cemetery with military honors by the Rueben Hansen American Legion Post 195. Birk Funeral Home in Hendricks was in charge of the arrangements.
Glen M. Johnson was born to Gilmore and Mary Sommervold Johnson on July 22, 1922. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He graduated from Hendricks High School and went into the service. He was with U.S. Seabee's and was stationed in Okinawa for four years. After the service, he worked for his dad as a television repair man and worked on the garbage route.
Glen loved trapping, playing bingo and cards. He was very helpful to many people and he loved his dog "Mitze".
Glen is survived by his four brothers, Robert (Irene) Johnson of Hendricks; Tom (Elaine) Johnson of Hendricks, MN; Richard (Agnes) Johnson of Hendricks, MN; Vernon (Evie) Johnson of Ivanhoe, MN; two sisters, Delores Stave of Hendricks, MN, and Dawn Stockwell of Garretson, SD.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, one sister, one brother, and a special friend.
